Trailer trash: Mortal Kombat Deception revealed!

2nd Mar 2004 | 16:47

Midway has revealed the sixth, typically carnage-crazed instalment of its long running Mortal Kombat series. Mortal Kombat Deception is set to appear on both PS2 and Xbox, and judging by the trailer it seems Midway has lost none of its customary appetite for graphic bloodletting.

The "shocking and evil" version of the game is set for release later this year, and as previously reported will feature multiple fatalities, multi-tiered stages a la Dead Or Alive 3. There's also a bunch of new game modes that Midway is currently keeping quiet about, although it's been confirmed that the game will feature an online mode.

Lots of old faces such as Baraka, Mileena and Scorpion put in an appearance in the trailer, which also shows one fight participant hurling his opponent into what appears to be a purpose built human-grinding device. Good clean fun.

The trailer is composed mostly of CG, but there's a smattering of brutal action on show as well; we'll have more on MK Deception soon, but for now, click the link below to check the trailer. The title is expected to appear In Europe in late 2004.
