Rockstar has scheduled the Xbox and PC versions of the mighty Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to hit stores on June 7 in North America and June 10 in Europe, according to reports.
It's good news for all those PS2-phobics who have so far resisted the temptation to indulge themselves in the state of San Andreas. Only three months to go...
The PS2 version has shifted over 12 million copies worldwide, setting records as the fastest-selling PS2 game ever. The Xbox and PC versions will no doubt also sell quicker than gold teeth at a pimp convention.
Patient PC and Xbox owners can expect sharper visuals, less slowdown, and an elimination of the pop-up that frequently blighted the PS2 version. What you shouldn't expect is additional content or updated features - Rockstar didn't do this in the past with PC and Xbox versions of GTA III and Vice City, and is unlikely to with San Andreas.
Still, we have no doubt that the extra technical capabilities of the PC and Xbox versions will finally be able to do true justice to Rockstar's epic San Andreas vision.
So there you go. PC and Xbox owners should fix up to get their gang-bang on from June 7 in the US and June 10 in Europe.
