Polish company acquires CD Projekt, says report

CD Projekt, developer of The Witcher 2, has been acquired by ailing Polish computer company Optimus S.A., claims a report.

UPDATE: CD Projekt has said to expect a statement later today.

According to an analyst quoted by, the previously privately-held Witcher house has had the majority of its stock snapped up by Optimus, along with CD Projekt Red which developed the first Witcher.

According to the report, CD Projekt has been in buyout talks for months, but negotiations temporarily broke down earlier in the year. Everything's rosy now though, it seems.
