Pac-Man the most recognisable game character

Pac-Man has beaten Mario to claim the Guiness Book Of World Records most recognisable video game character.
Game Informer has plucked some of the more interesting records from the latest edition of the US book, which you'll probaly get (the UK edition) under the Christmas tree tomorrow as your Gran will think you'll like it because it's about games.
"Most Recognizable Video Game Character: Mario? Sonic? Mega Man? Nope, it's Namco's very own Pac-Man. 94 percent of American consumers recognise the pellet-gobbler, edging out Nintendo's plumber by just one percent."
