Sega Europe has penned a three year deal with Alton Towers Resort for the "exclusive videogame rights" at the theme park and Sonic is getting his own 'Ride and Stay' experience.
The sponsorship deal will see a Sonic The Hedgehog branded rollercoaster and Sonic The Hedgehog themed room at the Alton Towers Hotel.
There's no word on what the plans might be for the ride, but it could be awesome. It probably won't be though. We're not sure today's theme park technology could do a Sonic ride the justice is so deserves.
The hotel room on the other hand allows guests to "live, sleep and even play the latest games from the Sonic franchise in a room dedicated to the famous Sonic videogame universe." It opens to the public on February 13.
Amanda Farr, Sega Europe UK marketing boss, gushed, "I'll certainly be there at the launch of the rollercoaster to have my turn!"
Let us know what the thrill factor is.
