Konami has announced it is to bring its Pro Evolution Soccer series to iPhone and iPod Touch, with PES 2010 set to arrive in June.
The version has been created by Konami's Paris development studio and 'has been designed to set new standards for the football genre on these devices', according to the publisher.
PES 2010 iPhone features 3D visuals and a variety of all-new control interfaces.
Konami claims that the AI is comparable to the console version of the game. It says that 'all the slick passing, first-time shots, and mazy runs that the existing versions enjoy are faithfully recreated'.
The title will include key game modes, such as UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
"To bring a game as complex and as playable as PES 2010 to iPhone and iPod touch has been a daunting challenge, but one that has paid off," commented Axel de Rougé, producer of PES 2010 for iPhone/iPod touch.
"We have been working to ensure that all the slick moves and control - not to mention strong AI and aesthetic touches - that are associated with the series, have been recreated. We are confident we have produced the best football game available for the Apple systems, and look forward to its reception in June."
Konami last week revealed PES 2011, which features a load of new gameplay ideas.
