Well now the World Cup has finally been and gone, it's just one short month until the domestic season starts again - when we can all kid ourselves we've got the best league in the world, all is well with English football and South Africa 2010 was a mere aberration.
A new season, of course, brings a brand new clash between two further giants of the game - as FIFA and PES both gear up to resume hostilities for your gaming dollar.
With FIFA by common consent now dominating like a Spanish midfield, the perennially popular PES has had to up its game to compete (though hopefully minus any De Jong-like X-rated tackling).
So here's a diverse array of screens showing some of PES 2011's new stadia and game environments. Even more intriguing are a couple pics which point to some advanced managerial options like a half time team. There's quite an unusual pic of how to link Feints and we round things off with new daddy Cristiano Ronaldo in his pomp about to do a number on the Italians.
Will it be enough to tip the balance back to PES? Well, ultimately it'll be all about the gameplay, but in the meantime enjoy the new screens and let us know in the comments below, what you think PES needs to do to take back the footballing crown.
