Mario Kart symbols appear in bike lanes

If you've ever wanted to get to work a little bit faster or maybe give a fellow road user the slip, these Mario Kart power-up symbols that have appeared on cycle lanes in America won't help at all.
But you can pretend they will - making the appropriate Mario Kart noises as you do.
The symbols, which include Speed boosts, banana peels and Starman, have a appeared in Portland, Oregon and no-one knows who the artist is.

Mario Kart will, of course, be heading to the Nintendo 3DS and will feature Tag Mode, where players will be able to share data between handhelds.
