Gran Turismo 5 has been called a few things in its time. 'Delayed', mainly. But UK developer Blitz has labelled it as something altogether more exciting.
Speaking in the latest issue of Esquire UK, Blitz boss Andrew Oliver praised Polyphony's racer, heralding it as a watershed for the video games industry.
"I've seen Gran Turismo 5 running in 3D and it's stunning," he said. "It is a major step forward. It's gaming's Avatar."
Oliver would know a thing or two about the subject: Blitz created the world's first Stereoscopic 3D console title, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao.
Meanwhile, Polyphony boss Kaz Yamauchi has revealed that the PS3 hardware "restricted" how close he could come to his vision for GT5. Then again, Kaz would probably feel "restricted" by PS500. His ambition knows no limits.
Gran Turismo 5 was due for release in November, but has now been delayed. However, Yamauchi announced last week that it had gone gold.
Sony reckons that the title will be here before Christmas.
