Helen Mirren netted £500K for Wii Fit ad

Actress picked up a Dame's salary for Nintendo commercial

Dame Helen Mirren was reportedly paid £500,000 by Nintendo to star in a Wii Fit Plus advert.

The 65-year-old actress received the bounty for two days work shooting ads designed to attract over-50s to the game, according to MSN.

"Nintendo insisted they wanted Helen and no one else," a friend of Mirren said. "They wanted an older, more attractive woman to show that the Wii isn't just for children."

The actress says in the ad: "You need never get bored as every day you can tailor a new workout."

The original Wii Fit topped the UK chart for about a billion weeks. Check out CVG Mike playing below.
