APB going free-to-play in 2011

Failed MMO set to rise from the ashes

Crime MMO APB will make its return next year with a new free-to-play business model.

Last week, the APB intellectual property was acquired by K2 Network, the firm behind free-to-play service GamersFirst.

Bjorn Book-Larsson, CTO and COO of GamersFirst, told IGN that APB is currently being prepped for its re-release as "a true free-to-play game" called APB: Reloaded in 2011.

In September, APB creator Realtime Worlds closed the MMO after just three months.

Shortly after, the studio also shut its doors.
