A new Gran Turismo 5 patch designed to improve aspects of the game's damage modelling will be released later this month.
According to Polyphony Digital boss Kaz Yamauchi, the update will address fan concerns with the game's controversial mechanical damage system, which currently rewards in-game experience with more realistic crashes.
However, Yamauchi suggested yesterday that the severity of damage may soon be selectable via a menu option.
Yamauchi told a fan on Twitter: 'Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming "early December"'.
Sony made the first Gran Turismo 5 patch available for download over the weekend.
The update was designed to improve the title's congested online multiplayer - and take better advantage of the GT5 servers.
