Mario Galaxy 2 named game of the year

There are dozens of game of the year contenders on the shelves this Christmas, but GamesMaster reckons the best of 2010 released way back in May - Super Mario Galaxy 2.
In its latest issue the mag lists its 50 favourite games of the year, with the Wii sequel beating out the likes of Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
"The old man proves he's still got it," says GM. "For sheer game design genius, Shiggy's most glorious creation is still the plumber to beat. Long live the birthday boy, King Mario".
Earlier this year we gave Galaxy 93% and you know what? We're not offended by the idea of it being branded 2010's best.
