Movie director David O. Russell is beginning to spill the details on his upcoming Uncharted film, and perhaps unsurprisingly it sounds a little more like Indiana Jones than Naughty Dog's PS3 adventure game.
The film will star Mark Wahlberg as Drake, and focus on the character and his extended family, placing them in 'fraught, globetrotting situations with some of the world's most influential people', writes the LA Times.
Russell said: "This idea really turns me on that there's a family that's a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities ... [a family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice.
"We'll have the family dynamic, which we've done in a couple of movies now," he added. "And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That's a really cool idea to me."
Wahlberg (who also starred in Max Payne) seems on board with the idea saying that game to film adaptations often lack "character and heart".
Wahlberg previously revealed that Russell is hoping to get Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci on board as Drake's family members.
