Super Mario Galaxy 2 has racked up a trio of game of the year awards. After Edge and GamesMaster declared Nintendo's amazing adventure to be the best game of 2010, Official Nintendo Magazine has placed it at number one in its end of year poll.
The new issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, which goes on sale today features the writer's top 10 games of the year and, perhaps unsurprisingly, Mario Galaxy 2 come out on top ahead of Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver and Professor Layton And The Lost Future.
However, there was a surprise top four finish for downloadable indie platformer Bit.Trip Runner.
Yet there was only going to be one winner and that was Nintendo's number one hero.
"An obvious number one, but that doesn't make it any less deserved," summed up the mag. "Crammed with so many novel ideas that it really should make other games blush."
They also praised the "lavishly realised game worlds with the best game music ever."
