Hollywood director D.J. Caruso, whose previous works include I Am Number Four, Eagle Eye and a few episodes of excellent bad cop drama The Shield, has said the Dead Space movie is still in the works, "from the producers of Twilight".
During a video interview with AreaGames (via Joystiq), Caruso said he'd initially attempted to come up with a Dead Space prequel, but that it "didn't work out as well as" he'd wanted it to.
"But if we can capture how - I don't want to say, I guess, how scary or horrifying it would be to play that game because it's really, really fantastic. It'd be fun to make that into a movie."

EA has said Dead Space 3 will be aimed at a broader audience as it attempts to recreate the popularity of Capcom's Resident Evil series.
