Jack Tretton was apparently "wrong" in his assessment that the release of Sony's next portable - codenamed NGP - could be delayed by damages caused to Sony in Japan's earthquake disaster.
A Bloomberg report yesterday said the Sony handheld may well get a staggered release with production problems being cited by Sony America president Jack Tretton.
Today however, a Wall Street Journal report (via 1UP) cites Sony Japan rep Satoshi Fukuoka as saying the Bloomberg report is "wrong", countering Tretton's concern with a more positive outlook.
"So far we see no impact from the quake on our launch plan," said Fukuoka. Sony had previously made clear plans to introduce the NGP in "at least one territory" by the end of the year.
