Zombie Daisuki

A-shamblin' we will go...

BALLS
There are always several levels to choose from at any time - one will progress the story while the others are just for fun and grinding. In keeping with the light-hearted tone of the game, you can jump into a really
difficult level, get totally roughed up and sent packing by the locals, but still keep any loot you managed to collect.

A diary records every triumph, awarding the MVP trophy to the best zombie of the day, and because nobody dies and you never leave a level empty handed, there can be no disasters. A little more depth would have been nice.

The zombies don't really have any different abilities and there are no puzzles, so our early comparisons with Pikmin were way off the mark. But it's fun, it's hectic, and if you have a taste for Japanese strangeness you'll find it impossible not to be completely smitten with your lovable gang of blue morons.

The verdict

Super cute, and totally different from any normal strategy game. It's well worth importing, since you shouldn't have much trouble understanding it

  • Excellent character art
  • Great incidental details
  • Could have been deeper
