Super Street Fighter 4 3DS ships a million

Capcom fighter becomes the first 3DS title to reach milestone

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition has become the first 3DS game to ship one million copies.

The Japanese, European and North American launch title helped propel lifetime shipments of the Street Fighter series beyond 31 million units, according to publisher Capcom.

The firm said 3D features "have successfully expanded the audience for our fighting games. In capturing both new fans and longtime fans of the series, we were able to reach the one million unit mark for this title."

It looks like Super Street Fighter IV may finally be confirmed for PC today, based on strong hints from series director Yoshinori Ono.

We interviewed Ono earlier this month after lavishing praise on the 3DS version of the game in our Street Fighter IV 3D Edition review.
