Uncharted's North jokes he'd 'burn someone's house down' to ensure movie is good

"I'm very protective of what we do," says VO

Naughty Dog has shared its thoughts on the ongoing development of an Uncharted movie, with Drake voice actor Nolan North joking he'll "burn someone's house down" if it infringes on "what we do well".

"We've been working really closely with [director] David O Russell; he's been to our office," Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells told Edge in its latest issue, on sale tomorrow. "We're really excited to see where he takes it."

Creative director Amy Hennig added that she respects the fact that Hollywood's job is to make a movie that is successful above all else.

"We're waiting too," she said. "But if the guy who made Three Kings wants to make an Uncharted movie, we should be thankful, right?"

Voice of Nathan Drake, Nolan North - who in the past has not made secret his interest in taking on the big-screen role - was more philosophical:

"Is it difficult, is it strange? Yeah. But that's the business of making big movies - you need big stars. I'm very protective of what we do. If that ever infringed on what we do well, I'm burning someone's house down."

The Uncharted film is said to star Mark Wahlberg as Drake, and focus on the character and his extended family, placing them in 'fraught, globetrotting situations with some of the world's most influential people'.
