Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the new Paris studio dedicated to creating movie adaptations of video games, plans to make feature films based on the Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon franchises.
Jean de Rivieres, senior VP of international marketing and distribution, told Variety that the studio has been working with the franchises' producers and Ubisoft's marketing team to identify the DNA of each and come up with consistent storylines.
"Our strategy is not to diversify but to bolster the appeal of our franchises - that's why we want to make sure our films will reflect the brands accurately and consolidate our fan base while expanding beyond the games' primary target audience," he said.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures is also creating a CGI 3D cartoon series based on the Raving Rabbids franchise.
