Call of Duty: Black Ops has become the best selling game in UK history, GfK ChartTrack has confirmed.
The Activision shooter was released in November last year and has already managed to clear the previous record holder and fellow Call of Duty entry, Modern Warfare 2, ChartTrack's confirmed.
Total UK sales for the Treyarch shooter up to June 25 stand at 3,722,411 - just ahead of Modern Warfare 2's 3,702,410.
Activision previously claimed in an investor call last month that Black Ops had become the best-selling game of all time in dollars across the US and Europe.
The publisher also claimed that five months after its release Black Ops had attracted over 33% more total unique online gamers than its record-breaking predecessor.
Activision's UK MD Andrew Brown said of the news: "This is an outstanding achievement for the development team at Treyarch and the amazing Call of Duty community."
The latest Black Op map pack, Annihilation, was released on Xbox Live today - with PS3 and PC versions to follow.
Will Modern Warfare 3 go one better? We wouldn't bet against it...
