3DS reclaims top spot in Japan charts

Nintendo 3DS reclaims the top spot in the Japanese Media Create hardware sales charts this week, selling 300 more units than Sony's PSP.

For the week ending July 3, 3DS sold 30,233 units to PSP's 29,871, while the PlayStation 3 saw a big increase to 26,441 units - up nearly 10k since last week's numbers.

Only two consoles saw a decline this week; the PlayStation 2 (down 100) and the PSP Go, which shifted just seven units.

Here are this week's Japan numbers (brackets indicate last week's stats):
