Battlefield 3 PC requires Origin to play

Battlefield 3 developer DICE has confirmed that PC players who buy the upcoming FPS through retailers will be required to download EA's digital distribution platform Origin to play the game.
In response to questions on the matter from fans on Twitter, DICE community manager Daniel Martos said: "Yes those 'rumours' are true ."
Battlefield 3 will be available from a number of digital download platforms other than Origin, but not from Steam.
Yesterday, publisher EA fired over a few new Battlefield 3 screens.
