Deus Ex studio to double in size

Will the next game be twice as good?

Square Enix is reportedly set to double the size of its Eidos Montreal studio, creator of current UK No.1 Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

According to French Canadian La Presse Affaires, the publisher will create 350 new jobs at the Deus Ex studio with a grant of $2 million CAD (£1.2m) from the Québec government.

Eidos Montreal will reportedly expand by 100 people before the end of 2012, with the remaining 250 jobs set to be created by 2015.

The expansion would bring the total number of employees at the studio from 330 to 680, making the Deus Ex firm the third biggest development studio in Montreal, behind EA Montreal (800 employees) and Ubisoft Montreal (2,100 employees).

When contacted, Square Enix wouldn't confirm the expansion plans.

Eidos Montreal released Deus Ex: Human Revolution last week to widespread critical acclaim. It's also working on Thief 4 and an unannounced new IP.
