Magical Zelda 25th Anniversary concert enchants London

Nintendo's Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony concert came to London last night, giving fans of the series a rare opportunity to witness some of gaming's most recognisable anthems performed by their creators.
Doors opened at 6.30pm and quickly the halls of the Hammersmith Apollo filled with costume-clad Zelda fans, including one keen pair dressed as Ocarina witches Koume and Kotake. We're glad we weren't sat behind them.
An excitable atmosphere built up until eventually the Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra took to the stage, on the backdrop of a giant screen showing off visuals from the games.
Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma welcomed fans to the show via both translator and surprisingly solid English, before another surprise guest, the lovely Zelda Williams - of Ocarina 3D ad campaign fame - appeared on stage to detail the night's music.
Williams admitted she was "really super nervous" at addressing the army of cosplay heroes in the audience, but came across as genuinely passionate for the Zelda cause as she talked about her reclusive childhood and how much the games meant to her.
The best part of the night however came at its conclusion, when a surprise appearance from Nintendo composer Koji Kondo saw the London venue rise to its feet in applause.
Kondo rounded off the evening's spectrum of rousing Zelda tunes - mostly focussed on the newer games - with a moving rendition of Granma's Theme from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.
After the show blogger and Zelda fan Colette Barr summed it up: "Last night was breathtaking and simply magical, the whole room was truly transported into the Zelda universe."
The Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra played a two part symphony including the following music:
Hyrule Castle Theme
Princess Zelda's Theme
The Wind Waker Symphonic Movement
Ocarina Melody Suite
Boss Battle Medley
Kakariko Village - Twilight Princess Theme
The Legend Of Zelda 25th Anniversary Medley
The Legend Of Zelda: Selected Shorts Suite
Hyrule Field from Ocarina Of Time
Great Fairy's Fountain Theme
Twilight Princess Symphonic Movement
The Legend Of Zelda Main Theme Medley
