Warner cuts staff at FEAR, LotR developers

"60ish" employees reportedly let go from publisher's Washington studios

Warner Bros. has confirmed it has made a round of layoffs at its Washington-based game development studios.

The cuts reportedly impacted staff at FEAR developer Monolith and The Lord of the Rings: War in the North maker Snowblind Studios.

3D Realms co-founder George Broussard broke the news via his Twitter account, putting the cuts at around "60ish" staff.

While Warner didn't confirm the number of employees affected, it told Joystiq it "had to make reductions" across its Seattle-based studios this week as part of a "continual review of our business operations and fluctuating market conditions".
