No always-on DRM for Assassin's Creed: Revelations

While PC gamers will have to wait a few weeks longer than console players to get their hands on Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game won't support its controversial always-on DRM.
The publisher told Rock Paper Shotgun the PC version will only require a one-time online activation to play, leading the site to suggest that the publisher may be ready to drop its unpopular DRM strategy for good.
That might be wishful thinking though. In July, the company emphasised that, as far as cutting down piracy is concerned, the system works. Talking to PC Gamer, a Ubisoft representative said the company had seen "a clear reduction in piracy of our titles which required a persistent online connection, and from that point of view the requirement is a success".

In September, Ubisoft was forced to release a patch to remove the always-on DRM from the PC version of From Dust. The game was originally supposed to require a one-time online activation only, but it released with always-on DRM, a "misunderstanding" Ubisoft later apologised for.
