Apple's inevitable 2012 iPad 3 will be out in March or April, according to new rumours.
Citing "sources in the supply chain", DigiTimes reports that the next-generation tablet will be available in the next three to four months as Apple prepares to fire up production in January.
According to the site, production of the current iPad 2 will subside heavily in the New Year to make way for the new model, dropping from 14-15 million units produced in Q4 2011 to 4-5 million units in Q1 2012.
The site again reports, as it has previously, that major production firm Foxconn Electronics will kick off iPad 3 production in January, this time citing a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
9.5-9.8 million iPad 3s will be produced in the first quarter of 2012, it claims.
Previous Wall Street Journal rumours suggested that the iPad 3 will come with a high-res, 9.7 inch screen with a 2048x1536 resolution, a significant upgrade from the current model's 1024x768 resolution.
