XCOM shooter delayed to 2013

But strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown is planned for release this year

2K Marin's XCOM first person shooter has reportedly been delayed until 2013, with publisher Take-Two opting to relaunch the franchise this year with strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown instead.

That's according to the latest issue of Game Informer (via IGN), which revealed last month that Civilization developer Firaxis was working on a new strategy entry in the series.

Take-Two announced a delay to the XCOM FPS in November. Previously set to launch on March 6, 2012, it pushed the game's release to the financial year ending March 31, 2013. It'll now seemingly be released in the fourth quarter of the company's upcoming fiscal year.
