3DS hardware sales jumped in Japan during the week ended February 19 as six games for Nintendo's latest handheld made the software top ten.

Apart from 3DS, which saw weekly sales rise from 67,558 units to 94,667, taking it past five million sales in record time, the only other platforms to see a lift in sales were PS2 and DSi.

PS3 sold 21,993 units to place second, third-placed PSP moved 14,824 units, while Vita slipped to a new weekly sales low of 12,309 units, Andriasang reports.

On the software front, 3DS dating sim New Love Plus comfortably debuted at No.1, ahead of fellow new entries Binary Domain for PS3 and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for 3DS. Samurai Warriors 3Z Special for PSP was also a new entry at No.7.
