XCOM: Enemy Unknown gets first gameplay video

Devs talk about combat and presentation

2K has finally released gameplay footage of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the reboot of the classic RTS being developed by Civilization studio, Firaxis.

The video, which you can see if you scroll your eyeballs downwards a little, features a nice chunk of combat gameplay along with a look at a new ant farm-like base, which players will be able to customise and also interact with characters.

Firaxis has described the title as a "full-on strategy game that puts players in command of a global anti-alien defense force."

When the reboot was revealed, studio president Steve Martin (no, not that one) said: "It's been a dream of ours to recreate X-COM with our unique creative vision. We're huge fans of the original game and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to re-envision a game that is as beloved as X-COM."
