Fallout: New Vegas dev hit with layoffs - report

20-30 people from all disciplines said to be affected by cuts

Obsidian Entertainment, developer of KOTOR 2, Alpha Protocol and Fallout: New Vegas, has reportedly suffered a number of layoffs following the cancellation of an unannounced next-gen project.

Although the full extent of the cuts isn't yet apparent, it is believed the team working on the upcoming South Park RPG has also been affected.

Reports of the layoffs have appeared on the studio's own forums, as well as on Twitter.

"11 years, nearly a dozen shipped titles, designer, lead, producer. 1 cancelled game, survived 7 layoffs, 8th got me. Not a bad track record," reads a Tweet by a former-staffer.

Speaking to Joystiq, an anonymous tipster has said "approximately 20-30 people from all disciplines, including one person who started yesterday, as well as one who started last week" have been let go.
