Angry Birds Space tops 10 million downloads in 3 days

Strong start for Rovio's latest bird-flinging game

Angry Birds Space has been downloaded more than ten million times in less than three days, according to developer Rovio.

Featuring 60 levels, plus new birds with fresh powers, the game takes the series' traditional bird-flinging action to outer space where floating rocks and planets provide changing gravity fields for players to navigate.

It launched simultaneously on iOS, Android, Mac and PC on March 22, and may or may not be coming to Microsoft's Windows Phone platform in the future, depending which statements from Rovio you choose to believe.

Rovio said on Twitter: "10 million Angry Birds Space downloads in less than 3 days! Thanks to our fans, stay tuned for more!"

The developer said last week that the Angry Birds series could reach a billion downloads across all platforms in the next few months, and two billion by the end of 2012.
