The Nintendo 3DS version of Epic Mickey 2 will be a sequel to the 1990s Mega Drive classic Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.
That's according to Nintendo Power, and given that the 3DS title is called 'Power of Illusion' we're inclined to believe it.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion is being developed by Dreamrift, the studio behind underappreciated DS platformer Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure.
According to Nintendo Power's preview, Power of Illusion will use the 3DS stylus to let players trace items into existence using Mickey's magical paintbrush. Drawing also plays a role in combat - perfectly rendering a canon will damage enemies, but botching the job could make it a danger to everyone in the area.
Excitingly, the game will feature scrolling parallax backgrounds along with the handheld's stereoscopic 3D, and each level will be based on an animated Disney adventure, with modern movies such as Tangled set to be included.
Character saved by Mickey will hang out in a fortress that serves as the home base for the iconic rodent.
Warren Spector has described the home console version of Epic Mickey 2 as a musical.
