GameStop to stock Steam cards from next week

Retailer does business with Valve's download-only service

GameStop stores across the US will start selling Steam cards, according to a report.

The store will reportedly begin stocking Steam vouchers from May 15, giving those who don't like submitting their credit card details to an online service an alternative way to buy games through Valve's digital service.

According to Kotaku's source, who also sent in the pictured image of a voucher, it's a bitter sweet deal between the two firms, since it's not an ideal way for either to sell games.

But it does, at least, get Steam games onto the PCs of those who won't put card numbers into their computers, and ropes GameStop into sales for a service that is otherwise designed to skip the retail middleman.
