Mario Kart 7 update eliminates shortcut exploits

Download it or you'll no longer be able to play online multiplayer races

Nintendo has released an update for Mario Kart 7 eliminating shortcut exploits in three tracks.

The exploits in question appear on the Wuhu Island Loop, Wuhu Mountain Loop and GBA Bowser Castle 1 courses.

Users will need to have performed the latest 3DS system update before visiting the eShop to download the Mario Kart 7 update data, Nintendo says.

Players who don't download the updates will still be able to take part in local multiplayer and single player races, but they won't be able to compete in online multiplayer match-ups.
