Game: Metal Gear Solid 5

Likelihood of E3 2012 showing: Possible

After some fans were left disappointed by the direction Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was headed in, series creator Hideo Kojima reassured them by stating a true stealth Metal Gear Solid sequel would be coming... er, at some point in the future. Even for Kojima, it was deliberately vague - but then, in February 2012, a financial report on Konami by a Japanese investment company outed the existence of Metal Gear Solid 5, nailing down a release date of... er, some time between April 2013 and March 2014.

Let's look at the evidence.

Shortly after MGS5's name was taken in vain in the financial report, Kojima Productions launched a recruitment campaign at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco, with the giveaway headline "Big Boss wants you! The next MGS." Among the vacancies to be filled were "Project engineers for the latest Metal Gear Solid targeted for high-end consoles and PC," indicating that a new MGS title isn't just in the works, it's multi-platform too.
