Splinter Cell: Black List rumoured for E3 reveal

Conviction sequel may be in line for January 2013 release on consoles, including Wii U

Ubisoft is tipped to announce its new Splinter Cell game at E3 next week, and rumours suggest the title will be a called Splinter Cell: Black List.

It's reportedly in line for a January 2013 release on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.

A NeoGAF poster claiming to have seen a promo for the game says Sam Fisher "is looking good as always with no grey hair, full body suit, and his mighty night goggles, including a serious look on his face".

The forumite goes on to state that Black List is a direct sequel to 2010's Splinter Cell Conviction, and that the "plot will be based on his enemies targeted as Blacklist."

In March, Ubisoft Toronto boss and former Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond told CVG of the new Splinter Cell: "It will have all of the action flick elements for sure, but we're trying to also explore something a little bit more interesting that is actually one of the themes that's at the root of the franchise historically, but never has been surfaced so much."

In February, a reportedly leaked 2012 Ubisoft release schedule mentioned a new game called Splinter Cell: Retribution.
