Nintendo already working on 3DS successor

Firm cooking up ideas for next-generation handheld, says Miyamoto

Nintendo has already started batting around ideas for a future generation of handhelds, says Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto.

"I really feel like I'm satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. I feel like it's the best for this generation," he told IGN when quizzed on the recent 3DS XL rumour.

"What we're thinking about right now is probably going to be for a future generation of handheld," he went on to reveal.

IGN says Miyamoto emphasised that there's still plenty to be done with 3DS and 3D gaming, while dismissing the suggestion to revise the 3DS with a built-in second analogue Circle Pad.
