Square Enix may reveal fresh Final Fantasy XIII content in just over a month.
As part of a series of events designed to celebrate the series' 25th anniversary, the Japanese firm will hold a "Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Saga: New Developments Presentation" on September 1.
With the title's producer, director, art director and other staff set to be in attendance, Square is promising details on the future of Final Fantasy XIII, Andriasang reports.
Earlier this month, FFXIII and XIII-2 director Motomu Toriyama told Famitsu: "The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off."
Running from August 31 through September 2, the FF 25th anniversary event will also feature a Final Fantasy XI music presentation, a Final Fantasy XIV Online stage show, and a Final Fantasy VII 15th anniversary presentation.
Six years since the debut Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer was shown, a new report has claimed that the project was cancelled several weeks ago, and that the development team has been folded into work of the unannounced Final Fantasy XV.
