'No timeline' on Dawnguard release date for PC and PS3

Xbox exclusivity deal on Skyrim DLC suspected to have expired

Bethesda has no timeline on when it will release or announce the Elder Dcrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard DLC on PC or PS3, a spokesperson for the company has said.

In a statement issued on Twitter, Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines said "we have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news".

"If we have news, I promise I'd tell you," he added.

Dawnguard, which was the debut expansion to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, launched on Xbox 360 on June 26th.

It appears that Bethesda has signed an exclusivity deal with Microsoft which prevents the studio from announcing a release date for rival platforms. However, it was suspected that the exclusivity period has now expired.

When Skyrim DLC was first announced last August, Microsoft said "the first two add-on content drops will be released exclusively on Xbox 360, 30 days before" they're available anywhere else".

However, Bethesda's messaging has been different, failing to make any mention of other platforms. In April it said: "Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft."
