Metacritic stipulation removed from Irrational job listing

'85+ Average Metacritic' scoring game no longer a job 'requirement'

BioShock developer has changed its mind on requiring applicants for a design manager post to have worked on "at least one game with an 85+ Average Meta Critic Review Score".

The controversial Metacritic stipulation, which stirred up a probably unexpected fuss within the media last week, has since been removed from the vacancy listing.

Metacritic, a popular games review consolidation website, has become a topic of controversy as certain games studios will only pay developers royalties if their games reach a certain average score milestone.

Irrational appeared to be one of the first companies to add Metacritic scores as a condition of employment - a move it has clearly decided against.
