Skyrim 1.7 update now live on Steam

Being submitted to console manufacturers for certification later this week

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim title update 1.7 is now out of beta and available to all Steam users.

Bethesda plans to submit the console version to Microsoft and Sony for certification later this week, but the studio hasn't announced an expected release date.

The patch fixes a number of crashes related to Dragon landings, water shaders and more, along with general optimisations.

The Xbox 360 version will also introduce a load of Kinect-related fixes, while Bethesda says mounted combat and the other features of update 1.6 will be rolled into 1.7 for PS3 players who have missed out so far.

Bethesda said yesterday it expects to provide details on Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC for PS3 and PC players "later this week".
