We love messing with load outs and character customisation, but our addiction to tweaking always cuts into gaming time. But with Dust 514, that seemingly won't be an issue.
Developer CCP is putting together a Vita companion app called Dust 514 Neocom, that'll allow you to take care of all that stuff while you're out and about.
The developer has recently spilled a load of new info on exactly what the companion app will do.
As marketing Director Cameron Payne detailed, "It brings all the customisation, community and commerce features onto the Vita. There's no direct gameplay but you can use pretty much all the features that the Neocom user interface offers in the main game."
What exactly does that mean? "You can interact with battles, purchase items on the market, play around with your dropsuit or vehicle and then save it so you can use it on PS3," explains Payne.
You'll have full access to the game's Fittings system to customise load-outs, armour and vehicle options.
You'll also have access to the game's store, which will play host to daily deals and special offers.
The galaxy map will also be fully viewable from the Vita app. CCP Creative Director Atli Mars Sveinsson promises it'll offer a view of all "700 solar systems and you can drill down and look at the individual planets".
He went on, "Over time we'd like you to be able to tinker with those planets and manage their surface infrastructure," hinting at future updates for the app.
Below are a couple of screens of Neocom in action.
