Motorola can't enforce Xbox 360 ban in Germany

A US appeals court has blocked Google subsidiary Motorola Mobility from enforcing an Xbox 360 ban in Germany.
The appeals panel said an earlier ruling by a lower German court granting an injunction against the distribution of certain Microsoft products was narrowly tailored, Bloomberg reports.
Microsoft and Motorola are engaged in legal battles over patents for Xbox and smartphone software in both the US and Germany, with each company claiming to be owed royalties from the other.
Motorola argues that Xbox 360 infringes on numerous patents related to "secure wireless communication and transmission of video content between controller devices and game consoles".
The case looks set to rumble on as both sides and the courts attempt to determine suitable royalty rates.
