No Doubt vs Band Hero: The saga ends

Case settled days before court date

No Doubt has been fighting Activision over turning the band into a "virtual karaoke circus act," and with just days before the case was set to go to trial, No Doubt settled.

Activision adamantly retained the belief that there was no wrong doing in the way they used No Doubt's image within the game Band Hero. No Doubt, however, disagree.

Associated Press has reported that No Doubt has settled the lawsuit over Band Hero on Monday, but no other information was provided. The band's attorney Bert Deixler declined comment with AP, and Activision never returned a phone call.

Deixler previously stated that the band really only wanted an apology, and for Activision to promise "to never mistreat artists in the manner they have mistreated No Doubt and countless others." We suspect there was more involved in the settling of this case than an apology and a promise, and we expect a statement from the band, Deixler or Activision sometime soon.
