Bungie hires former Rockstar dev to work on Destiny's sandbox

Danny Bulla previously worked on Red Dead Redemption

Bungie has hired former Rockstar developer Danny Bulla to work as "a gameplay designer on the sandbox team" for its new project.

Bulla worked on Red Dead Redemption and Midway's Blacksite: Area 51 before joining the ex-Halo studio last year.

Bungie said of Bulla on its official website: "He's doing some amazing work and, so far, he hasn't tried to lash any of us to a pair of railroad tracks."

Little is known of Bungie's new project, which is tied into a ten-year exclusive multiplatform deal with Activision, although it's rumoured to be an MMO styled action shooter.

The publisher said in February: "We continue to lay the foundation for our new universe from Bungie, one of the world's best developers.

"Bungie continues to make incredible progress on what we expect to be a genre-defining new IP that will provide us with tremendous new opportunities, and which remains one of our key strategic growth pillars for the future."
