Video: Assassins Creed Liberation 'replicates the console experience on Vita'

Dev diary covers new female lead, confirms inclusion of AC3's Connor

Ubisoft has released a new Assassin's Creed: Liberation developer diary.

Set in Louisiana during the American Revolution, the Vita exclusive game is in development at Ubisoft Sofia in Bulgaria.

The movie covers the decision to introduce a female lead character alongside fresh weapons like a blowpipe and a whip, among other topics.

Corey May, lead scriptwriter for the Assassin's Creed series, says: "In terms of the scale of Liberation, we wanted to replicate the console experience on a handheld, so you will find that it's as large and deep as any of the other console entries in the franchise."

He also revealed: "Over the course of her adventure Aveline will meet up and interact with [Assassin's Creed 3's] Connor. I don't really want to say much more."

The Assassin's Creed Liberation release date is October 31, the same day as the Assassin's Creed 3 release date on PS3 and Xbox 360.
