The Microsoft Research team is working on a wristband controller known as the Digitis that looks to take motion control gaming to a whole new level.
Microsoft's latest invention, the Digitis, tracks hand and finger movements through a series of infrared signals and cameras.
The wristband controller has been described as "freehand 3D computer interaction without gloves." The Microsoft Research website, provides a video of a man demonstrating how the wristband controller would work while playing a fighting game.
Unlike Kinect, the device doesn't seem to require a direct line of sight with the screen for it to work and remain responsive.
While the device is currently quite large and chunky, project leader David Kim wants the final product to be wireless and the size of a wristwatch.
